I say continuously feed your mouth, mind and spirits with knowledge, music, & creativity, for you will discover your passions that will unfold purpose in all that you do. God | Self-God | Love - itsleilanilei | Shortylife | Leideezy

Just like love, musical sound unfolds in a continuous, transitory present. One way of conceiving a meaningful existence is to say that it requires someone, somewhere, to have “found you” in a profound sense, someone to share your “real”, secrets, this often happens through a shared love of specific music. This may happen when you are dancing together to a song or melody you both love or just listening to. Music resonates with human attunement or “moodness” because it requires listeners, just as a person requires an “other” — perhaps a “significant other” — to feel complemented, “completed”, albeit intermittently instead of conclusively. I’m explaining this because everything from falling bodies to the irrepressible nature of life, including sex and love, and even the arts. Among all the art forms it is music that has connected me to YOU my love, my child, my friend…

Gotta love Aaliyah

This comes to mind at least once a day… probably for the rest of my life….Instead of saying “I love you” just say “Ken Lee” to your lover now.

Happy Monday, Peace & <3

What? A 2013 video of my ex D’Angelo…. This song was written for me…

I don’t trust anyone who hasn’t been self-destructive in some way, or hasn’t gone through some sort of self-loathing? If you don’t know pain, then how do you know love?

Tip of the day: Ladies, common beauty courtesy… if you see a chic especially someone you know with smeared makeup, or anything that doesn’t belong on their face, let a chic know! Gents too, but ladies esp. You don’t want to meet your soul-mate with smeared lipstick!

One of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles.

In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000’s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.

J. Rocc is currently working on a solo album for Stones Throw.
